Marine surveyor MMT has won a contract from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency to carry out a geophysical soil investigation of the 700MW Ten Noorden van de Waddeneilanden offshore wind farm zone off the Dutch coast.
The investigation will contribute to the bathymetrical, morphological and geological understanding of the area, MMT said.
The data will ultimately be used by developers to prepare bids for offshore wind farms at the site.
MMT said preparations are currently underway, with the fieldwork planned to be performed this month and August using the survey vessel Franklin (pictured).
MMT chief commercial officer Nils Ingvarson said: “The contract award underscores the capabilities of MMT within the renewables energy sector. We are delighted to be awarded this highly demanding survey assignment.”
