Installation of the first of two mono bucket foundations has been paused at Northland Power’s 269MW Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
Northland said the work had been halted due to a “technical issue and for further evaluation”.
It added: “As the mono bucket installations are part of a pilot project designed to test this technology, this pause does not impact the 31 turbines that make up the main project.”
No further details were given.
The mono bucket foundation was fabricated by Bladt Industries in Denmark and was transported to the project site by Seajacks jack-up Scylla.
The two mono buckets are intended to support MHI Vestas V164-8.4MW turbines.
Commissioning of MHI Vestas hardware on 31 monopile foundations was completed in September at the project.
Deutsche Bucht is scheduled to be fully operational by year-end.
