Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) has signed a contract to charter a crew transfer vessel (CTV) to support its work supplying temporary power solutions to Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm.
WEM Marine’s newest addition to the offshore fleet, the WEM3, joined MRE on Hornsea 2 in July 2021.
The WEM3 is a 27 metre CTV capable of accommodating 24 passengers and three crew members for high-speed offshore personnel transfer.
MRE will use the WEM3 for crew transfers and refuelling operations, alongside the Manor Endurance.
David Ford, director at WEM, said: “WEM Marine recently took delivery of two vessels, the WEM3 and WEM4, and we are delighted that we have the opportunity to work in conjunction with MRE conducting refuelling operations on Hornsea 2 wind farm.
“We hope this will be the beginning of a successful relationship together.”
Billy Hamilton, sales director at MRE, said: “We began talks with WEM whilst their vessels were on route to the UK, due to the MRE fleet being occupied with long term charters.
“Onboard accommodation and large fuel capacity are crucial factors to enable us to complete our temporary power operations and the WEM3 met all the requirements.
“They have been a pleasure to work with and are flexible to the ever-changing demands onsite.”
