Wim Biesemans has been appointed chief executive officer of Belgian dredging, environmental and marine engineering group DEME’s concessions arm.
He will oversee all concession activities related to infrastructure, renewable energy (offshore wind and wave and tidal energy) and marine resources.
Biesemans (pictured), former CEO of Parkwind, will replace Marc Maes as head of the group.
DEME said over the next few months Maes will “gradually hand over the DEME Concessions files” to Biesemans.
Biesemans said: “I have always been lucky enough to work for growing companies or on promising start-up projects.
“I love building strong teams that can grow together and that’s exactly what I expect to do with DEME’s entire entrepreneurial team. I like addressing challenges and making a difference.”
DEME Group CEO Alain Bernard said: “With Wim Biesemans we welcome a strong team player who has the know-how and expertise to further strengthen the DEME Concessions department”.
