New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has signed an executive order upping the state’s offshore wind target to 11GW by 2040.
The order, which came into effect yesterday, replaces the New Jersey’s previous offshore wind target of 7.5GW by 2035.

Murphy has also ordered the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to undertake a feasibility study on the benefits of further increasing the state’s goal and to report back on its findings no later than one years’ time.
