Van Oord has contracted Norwegian company Rem Offshore’s platform supply vessel Rem Trader for work this year and next on the 496MW Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm off the north coast of France.
Developer Ailes Marines selected Van Oord to transport and install the 62 jacket foundations for the turbines and the offshore substation for the project.

The jackets and corresponding piles are being fabricated by the Navantia-Windar joint venture in Spain.
Smulders subsidiary Iemants and Engie Solutions have the contract to supply the offshore substation.
Saint-Brieuc will feature Siemens Gamesa 8.0-167 turbines.
Ailes Marines is 100% owned by Spanish energy company Iberdrola.
