Ocean Winds is to hold a series of public consultation events for its 2GW Caledonia offshore wind farm off north-east Scotland.
The meetings will examine an offshore scoping report filed by the developer in October.
The report outlines the technologies under consideration for the ScotWind development.
It also details the work that will be undertaken for the Environmental Impact Assessment which will support the planning application for the project, expected to be made in 2024.
Ocean Winds hopes to commission the wind farm in 2030.
“Caledonia will double the Moray Firth’s ability to supply low-cost, low-carbon electricity – with expected capacity meeting the average electricity needs of around two million homes,” it said.
Consultation events gather feedback on proposals from the coastal communities nearest the project.
The process includes meetings in Wick (Mackays Hotel – Monday 7 November, 12-8pm), Fraserburgh (Leisure Centre – Wednesday 9 November, 12-8pm) and Buckie (Victoria Park Lounges – Thursday 10 November, 12-8pm).
A virtual consultation is also available to those unable to attend the events.
