RES has won a 15-year contract to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services to Blue Transmission’s offshore grid assets at the 184MW Walney 2 wind farm in the Irish Sea.
The work will include planned and unplanned maintenance, such as 24/7 control room services, fast response and the provision of offshore logistics, RES said.
RES already provides O&M services for Blue Transmission’s Walney 1 offshore transmission (OFTO) asset.
A Blue Transmission spokesman said: “RES was selected due to their performance delivering services on Walney 1 OFTO as well as their wider expertise in engineering, technical and operational matters in the offshore wind industry.”
RES Support Services general manager AO&M Filippo Di Salle said: “Winning this second long-term O&M contract for an OFTO is a great achievement for RES and will give us the opportunity to keep expanding our offshore operations.
“In addition to our experience delivering O&M services for Walney 1 OFTO, we’ve been able to use our 10 years expertise in providing services to the offshore wind industry to great effect in successfully winning this project.”
