Authorities in Scotland have given the green light for an onshore substation for the 48MW Kincardine floating offshore wind farm.
Aberdeen City Council backed the building of the substation at Langdykes Road in a newly published decision.
The project is being developed by Pilot Offshore and Atkins with Spanish outfit ACS already lined up to supply Kincardine’s Cobra semi-spar concrete foundation, which will be fabricated at the Kishorn dry dock in the Scottish Highlands.
The project must be completed by end-October 2018 to be accredited under Scotland’s 3.5 Renewables Obligation for floating wind.
