Orlen Neptun has secured permits for the offshore transmission infrastructure at its 1GW Baltic East wind farm off Poland.
The approvals allow the company to lay and maintain cables for the project in internal waters and the territorial sea.

The wind farm has received preliminary grid connection requirements, permits for the construction or use of artificial islands, structures and facilities, and is at an advanced stage of the environmental decision process, according to the developer.
The wider Orlen Group plans to deliver 12.8GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2035 and hopes to increase this level with up to five new offshore wind farm sites totalling around 5.2GW, it said.
