Orsted CEO Rasmus Errboe is “satisfied” with a court ruling blocking enforcement of President Donald Trump’s shutdown order for the 704MW Revolution Wind, allowing work to resume on the project.
In a LinkedIn post, the Orsted boss said: “As part of our ongoing risk management efforts, we had prepared for a number of scenarios, so when we received the suspension order shortly before the holidays without any notice, we were ready and activated our action plans.
“Now our focus is on safely resuming construction work as soon as possible and moving towards delivering reliable and affordable electricity to 350,000 homes in Rhode Island and Connecticut.”
The project is 87% complete, according to Orsted, and has installed all of its foundations and 58 of its 65 turbines.
Cadeler’s Wind Scylla jack-up vessel was back at the site today, less than 24 hours after Judge Royce Lamberth granted the injunction, according to vessel tracking websites.
Revolution Wind was the first of three projects requesting an injunction that will have hearings in US federal courts this week.
