Orsted has withdrawn its wake effect objections to JERA Nex BP and EnBW’s 1500MW Morgan offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea.
The Danish developer and Japanese-UK-German tie-up have reached an agreement, the latter has told the UK Energy Secretary in permitting filings.
No details of the agreement have been revealed but Orsted has now withdrawn its objection, according to the paperwork.
The Danish developer had argued that the Round 4 project would have an impact on output from a fleet of its Irish Sea wind farms, including the Burbo Bank complex (pictured).
The agreement follows a provision in the permit granted to JERA Nex BP and EnBW’s nearby 1.5GW Mona project that requires the developer to get approval for a wake effects plan.
Planning permission for Mona was granted earlier this year.
For Morgan, a planning filing states that the developer believes there does not need to be a similar requirement for the DCO if granted due to the agreement reached with Orsted.
A JERA Nex BP spokesperson said: “JERA Nex BP and EnBW are pleased to have reached an agreement with Ørsted regarding wake effects.
“We are now focused on continuing to progress our Morgan and Mona projects at pace and look forward to ongoing collaboration with Ørsted in the future.”
Orsted has been contacted for comment.
