Orsted has launched an investigation after a cargo ship collided with a turbine at the 330MW Gode Wind 1 wind farm in the German North Sea.
The vessel, named in media reports as the Petra L, hit the unit on Monday, according to the Danish developer.
No one was in inured in the incident and the vessel is now quayside in Emden, Germany.
The Petra L has a five metres by three metres hole in her hull, according to German police.
The ship was sailing from Poland to the Belgian port of Antwerp loaded with grain when the collision occurred, added a statement.
The marine division of the force is continuing the investigate, said the police.
Orsted said: “Orsted’s in-house control centre has documented the incident. The offshore wind turbine involved has been taken out of operation for further investigation.”
