Palfinger Marine has signed a deck equipment contract with Norwegian shipbuilder Ulstein Verft for Nexans new cable-laying vessel Aurora.
The package consists of abandon and recovery winches, A-frame, knuckle boom cranes and overhead travelling gantry cranes.
The high-end cable-laying vessel has been developed for operations in rough weather and has high manoeuvrability and station-keeping capabilities.
Ulstein Verft is building the vessel, which was designed by Skipsteknisk, and will prepare it for the topside equipment.
Palfinger sales director winches and handling equipment Sverre Mowinckel-Nilsen said: “Being awarded with this order confirms our good reputation in the high-end vessel market.
“We are very proud for being chosen once again by Ulstein Verft for delivering our high-quality equipment and we are looking forward working closely with the yard and owner (Nexans) on this project.”
