Petrofac has awarded SeaRenergy a contract to deliver integrated offshore support services under a framework deal for the 900MW BorWin3 HVDC platform when installed in German waters.
SeaRenergy will be supporting Petrofac in the facility management during the hook-up and commissioning phases and will deliver support services covering platform management, on and offshore logistics including helicopter transfers and associated management at site and on land, the contractor said.
The Heerema-fabricated jacket foundation for the BorWin gamma platform was installed at the construction site some 130km off the German coast in May.
Petrofac is the main contractor for the project, together with Siemens. The partners will install a Siemens HVDC topside later this year that will connect EnBW’s 497MW Hohe See and the 400MW Global Tech 1 offshore wind farms to the grid via a 160km cable link.
The BorWin3 connection system is expected to be commissioned in 2019.
