A public consultation is underway for the grid connection for the 700MW Ten Noorden van de Waddeneilanden wind farm zone off the Netherlands northern coast.
The Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and Tennet have kicked off consultation with local residents and parties over plans for the project’s on and offshore cable routes and onshore substation.

In February the ministry said it was preparing to start seabed surveys at the site, planned to occur between July and September this year.
The government will auction off the Ten Noorden van de Waddeneilanden zone to developers in 2022.
The zone lies 80 kilometres off the coast of Friesland.
