Ramboll has concluded several engineering studies for Fred Olsen Seawind and Vattenfall, shareholders of the 798MW Muir Mhor floating wind farm, located off the east coast of Scotland.
Ramboll has been involved in the Muir Mhor project since March 2023, performing feasibility studies related to mooring and anchor design to inform the next project phases.
Further Ramboll has been working on floating substructure related screening and engineering studies to support the understanding of the site and project conditions and its implications on the floating substructure selection in later project phases.
Denis Matha, Global Head of Floating Wind at Ramboll says: “Muir Mhor’s deep-water conditions are challenging, but well-suited to floating turbine technology enabling it to be amongst the world’s first commercial scale floating wind projects.
“That’s why we are extremely excited to be part of the project at an early stage and support our client with our in-depth knowledge of floating foundations in order to inform early decision-making and support de-risking of upcoming project phases.”
