Ventyr, a consortium consisting of Parkwind and Ingka Investments, has chosen Ramboll to work on the design of its offshore wind project off Norway.
Ramboll will provide front end engineering design (FEED) services for the Sorlige Nordsjo 2 offshore wind project located along the west coast of the country in the Southern Norwegian North Sea.
Ramboll will start in January with the basic foundation design for the project’s anticipated monopile foundations, which will accommodate turbines in the 15-18MW class.
Ramboll’s team will tackle the challenging site conditions 200 km offshore with a maximum of 60 metres water depth.
Peter Caluwaerts, head of projects at Parkwind, said: “Ramboll’s unmatched expertise in XXL monopile design and extensive North Sea experience carry our trust.
“By incorporating the geotechnical data collected over the past weeks and months, we can confidently work together to create a resilient and forward-thinking foundation solution.”
Tim Fischer, global executive director of wind at Ramboll, added: “With Sørlige Nordsjø II we finally see a major offshore wind project being developed in Norwegian waters. We are proud that Ventyr has chosen Ramboll to contribute our engineering expertise at an early stage of this project, which will bring green energy to over 500.000 households in Norway.
“The work will be executed by our Danish team backed up by our global specialists, but we will also use it to further grow our local team in Oslo to be ready to further support the growing Norwegian offshore wind market.”
