GeoSea jack-up vessel Innovation has completed installation of 20 suction bucket jacket foundations at Orsted’s 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The wind farm also features 36 monopile foundations that were installed at the end of May.
Fred Olsen Windcarrier jack-up vessel Bold Tern is currently installing the 56 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines at the project site 54km off the coast of Lower Saxony.
Turbine installation is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year, Orsted said.
Full commissioning is scheduled for 2019.
