A tender to survey the connections of three offshore wind farms for unexploded ordnance (UXO) has been issued by French transmission firm RTE (Réseau de Transport d’Electricité).
The tender relates to the AO6 project, consisting of the construction of two Méditerranée offshore wind farms in Mediterranean Sea, and the AO7 Oléron scheme, comprising in the construction of one offshore wind farm in South Atlantic Ocean.
RTE is in charge of the electrical connection of the offshore wind farms to the French Transmission Grid.
Data collected during the UXO surveys will be used by the French Department of Underwater and Submarine and Archaeological Research (DRASSM) to establish an archaeological assessment of the surveyed area in order for RTE to get the authorization for the performance of the projects.
The contract covers the preparation of the UXO campaign, including the mobilization of the vessel, personnel and equipment necessary to perform the services as well as the demobilisation once the survey is completed,
Interested parties have until 4 September 2023 to submit their bids.
