RWE has completed the sale of the 350MW FEW Baltic 2 offshore wind development project in the Polish Baltic Sea to PGE.
RWE and PGE said the transaction, first announced in December, makes PGE the sole owner of the project located about 50 kilometres north of the Polish town of Ustka.
The companies added that RWE has also transferred an Environmental Decision and related data for the adjacent offshore wind development site 44.E.1. to PGE.
The F.E.W. Baltic 2 wind farm has a planned capacity of 350MW and is located in the Polish Baltic Sea.
RWE said it remains committed to supporting Poland’s energy transition through the development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects across the country.
The company currently operates onshore wind and solar farms in Poland with a combined capacity of more than 700MW.
RWE said PGE is better positioned to develop the F.E.W. Baltic II project as part of its broader portfolio than RWE would be on a standalone basis.
The company added that it continues to expand its offshore wind portfolio and currently operates 19 offshore wind farms in five countries with a total installed capacity of 6.2GW.
RWE’s share of those operational projects amounts to 3.3GW.
The developer also has four offshore wind projects under construction including Sofia in the UK, Thor in Denmark, OranjeWind in the Netherlands and Nordseecluster in Germany with a combined generation capacity of 4.8GW, of which RWE’s share is 3.1GW.
