RWE’s 342MW Kaskasi offshore wind farm will supply green electricity to seven major German industrial customers from 2026.
PPAs have been signed between RWE Supply & Trading as well as DHL Group, Ensinger, Evonik, Infraserv Höchst, thyssenkrupp Steel Europe and Vodafone.
The Schwarz Group’s retail divisions (Lidl, Kaufland) had already concluded a first supply contract for electricity from Kaskasi in spring 2023.
The majority of the contracts run for 10 years and include either a direct purchase (as-produced), a timetable delivery with a wind farm profile (as-nominated) or a structuring to a constant electricity supply volume (strip delivery).
The first delivery will start in 2026, with further contracts to follow in 2027 and 2028; the amount of electricity available for PPAs is thus completely allocated.
Kaskasi is located around 35km off the coast of Heligoland and has 38 turbines that can supply 400,000 households per year with green electricity.
The site is part of the Helgoland Cluster with the Amrumbank and Nordsee Ost wind farms and started regular operation in spring 2023.
