Scottish Renewables has welcomed the Scottish Government’s Budget 2026-27 commitment to spend £93m to support the country’s offshore wind sector.
The cash is the next tranche of a funding pledge made by Holyrood in 2023 to invest £500m in supply chains.
A further £8m has also been allocated to support a new skills action plan.
“The latest budget maintains support for the offshore wind sector and is expected to develop supply chain companies, encourage export activity and contribute to skills across Scotland,” said Scottish Renewables Chief Executive Claire Mack.
“This week we will have more clarity on Scotland’s offshore wind sector following the latest CfD auction, so we are also pleased to see the next tranche of the Scottish Government’s £500m commitment to the supply chain.
“We will work closely with the Scottish Government to ensure this funding is deployed in a way that gives industry the certainty it needs to invest in the infrastructure and manufacturing capacity required to secure Scotland’s offshore wind future.”
