Seajacks jack-up Scylla has arrived in Belfast ahead of turbine installation at Dong Energy’s 659MW Walney 3 offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea.
A Seajack’s spokeswoman said that mobilisation of the vessel will “start shortly”.
Scylla (pictured) will start installing 40 MHI Vestas V164 8MW turbines later in the summer followed by 47 Siemens SWP-7.0-154 machines.
Turbine components and foundations are being stored in Belfast and the construction coordinated from the port of Barrow in Furness.
Van Oord is currently installing the 87 monopile foundations for the project.
Walney 3 is scheduled to be fully commissioned in 2018.
