UK energy service vessel operator Seacat Services has moved into a new purpose-designed headquarters in Cowes on the Isle of Wight ahead of work on several offshore wind developments set to start in April.
The company said the new facility has been part-funded by a grant from regional development agency Solent Local Enterprise Partnership.
It added that the base has been designed to increase onsite storage and service options, enhance workshop facilities for in-house repairs and allow the company to mobilise major core components, including spare engines.
In February, Seacat’s fleet will also be boosted by the addition of the speed utility vessel Seacat Enterprise.
Seacat Services managing director Ian Baylis said: “While it has, to all intents and purposes, been business as usual at Seacat Services over the past few months, behind the scenes we have simultaneously been gearing up for what is likely to be the busiest period of offshore wind construction to date.”
