The first offshore substation transition piece and J-tube cage for the 487MW Seamade offshore wind farm off Belgium are being transported to the Sif terminal in Rotterdam in the Netherlands ahead of installation.
The components, which have a combined weight of approximately 700 tonnes, were loaded on a transportation barge at Smulders yard in Hoboken in Belgium.

Together with the foundation they will be loaded onto DEME Offshore jack-up vessel Innovation for installation at the project site.
Two offshore substations will be installed for the Seamade project, which will comprise 58 Siemens Gamesa 8.4MW turbines.
