SeaRoc will provide marine coordination services for the 640MW Yunlin offshore wind farm off Taiwan.
The company will supply its SeaPlanner marine management system to support the construction of Yunlin, as part of a strategic partnership between SeaRoc and Mercuries Data System set up to deliver communications and marine coordination software and hardware for the project.
The construction project team will use SeaPlanner to organise all personnel and marine logistics for Yunlin, which is being built 8km off the coast of Yunlin County.
SeaPlanner provides an integrated solution for managing safety and efficiency on the project, including inductions, personnel certification management, vessel and personnel tracking, all of which can be seen from an interactive map of the project site.
Yunlin will feature Siemens Gamesa 8.4MW turbines on monopile foundations and is expected online in December 2021.
Yunlin is 73% owned by Wpd and 27% owned by a Sojitz-led consortium that includes Chugoku Electric Power Company, Chudenko Corporation, Shikoku Electric Power and JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation.
SeaRoc managing director Steve Pears said: “SeaPlanner is currently employed on a significant percentage of the world’s offshore wind turbines and we are pleased to extend our coverage and support Mercuries Data System on this milestone project.”
