Shell is reported to be considering divesting its stakes in floating offshore wind projects planned for development off the Scottish coast.
According to Bloomberg, the oil major “plans to sell leases it won to develop floating wind farms off the coast of Scotland”, citing unnamed sources said to be familiar with the matter.

It is looking to offload its share in projects totalling up to 5GW that have been progressed as a joint venture with ScottishPower, the publication states.
Both Shell and ScottishPower told reNEWS they did not wish to comment on the Bloomberg report.
The companies secured joint offers for seabed rights off Scotland in 2022 as part of the ScotWind leasing round, comprising the 3GW MarramWind and 2GW CampionWind.
