Seaway Heavy Lifting has produced an animation of how it intends to install the offshore substation for Statoil’s 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm.
The three-minute video has been uploaded on YouTube and shows the whole process from the moment the suction bucket foundations turn up on a barge alongside the installation vessel, to the lifting of the four-deck substation topside onto to it.
The 48-metre yellow structure will be sunk into the seabed very soon using foundation technology for the first time in the UK.
The topside is currently being completed by Sembmarine ready for its load out in July and sail away in August.
