Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) has been awarded an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for the foundations at Trianel’s 203MW Borkum 2 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The contract is still subject to the project achieving financial close, which is expected in the first half of 2017, SHL said.
The company said project management and engineering has already started at its offices in Hamburg and Zoetermeer.
Fabrication will take place in 2017 and 2018, while offshore installation will occur in 2018 using SHL’s Stanislav Yudin heavy lift vessel.
The project will consist of 32 Senvion 6.2M152 turbines with a power upgrade to 6.33MW each.
