Siem Offshore has named its latest cable lay vessel at the Remontowa shipyard in Gdansk in Poland.
The Siem Aimery (pictured) will now undergo final mobilisation prior to starting cable loading for the inner array grid and export cable systems for the 332MW Nordsee 1 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
It will then work on the inner array grid for the 402MW Veja Mate project in the German Bight.
The vessel has been designed for the installation and repair of medium and high voltage submarine cables.
It has two low carousels in the hull and a hangar-based cable deck to cope with adverse weather conditions, Siem Offshore said.
Siem Offshore Contractors has chartered the vessel from Siem Offshore and will carry out the cable laying activities.
Siem Offshore Contractors managing director Regis Rougier said: “I am delighted to have the Siem Aimery in our fleet, with the Siem Moxie and the Siem Aimery working in tandem, we have the best of breed installation spread available.”
