Cadeler vessel Wind Osprey has left Maasvlakte port in Rotterdam loaded with the world’s largest commercial turbines to be installed at the 1500MW Hollandse Kust Zuid project.
The new generation of Siemens Gamesa 11MW turbines have an rotor diameter of 200 metres, and a total height of 225 metres measured from the sea level to the top of the blade.

Cadeler will support Vattenfall, which is developing the subsidy-free project in the Netherlands, with the transportation, lifting and installation all 140 offshore wind turbines.
Cadeler said: “We are very excited to be the first to ever support the installation of turbines of this amazing size and capability.”
