Siemens Gamesa has said that one of its turbines has set a world record for energy production.
According to the company, its 14MW SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbine prototype produced 359MWh within a 24-hour period, the most power one turbine has ever produced in that time frame.

With a rotor diameter of 222 metres, making it among the world’s largest wind turbines.
The first SG 14-222 DD was installed as a prototype at the test centre in Osterild, Denmark, in November 2021.
This is equal to the amount of energy needed to drive 1.8m km in a mid-sized electric car.
