Sif will produce 58 monopiles and the primary steel for the transition pieces for the 487MW offshore wind farm Seamade.
Sif and Smulders will make the transition pieces for the project jointly in Hoboken, the Netherlands. Smulders will be responsible for outfitting the transition pieces.
Production is slated for 2019.
DEME subsidiary Dredging International awarded the contracts.
Seamade is located 40km off the coast off the Belgian coast of Ostend in depths of 22 to 38 metres.
A joint venture company, between the Otary group (70%), Electrabel/Engie (17.5%) and Eneco Wind Belgium (12.5%), is developing the wind farm.
The offshore wind farm will comprise 58 Siemens-Gamesa turbines each with an individual installed capacity of 8.4MW supported by the monopile foundations and structures.
