Sif Group has won a contract to supply all 44 monopile foundations for the 370MW Norther offshore wind farm off the Belgium coast.
The Dutch outfit will also tackle the production of primary steel for transition pieces for the wind farm and Smulders Projects will outfit the kit.
Production on both foundation components will begin in the second half of this year and be completed in the first quarter of 2018.
Norther will feature 44 MHI Vestas V164 8.4MW turbines. The contracts were awarded by the construction balance of plant contractor Van Oord.
The wind farm is being developed by a joint venture of Eneco, Mitsubishi Corp subsidiary Diamond Generation Europe and Belgium energy company Elicio.
Norther is scheduled for commissioning in 2019.
