Simply Blue Energy has confirmed that it has applied to the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure for an offshore location license for one of the 11 areas the government has opened for applications.
The floating wind developer said it has applied for a lease for the area known as 60.E.4.
The company said 60.E.4 is currently the deepest water site in the Polish Maritime Spatial Plan.
Simply Blue said it “recognises the enormous potential and demand for floating offshore wind in the Baltic Region”.
The company added: “Existing Polish infrastructure and skilled workers provide a promising base for new industry growth, and Simply Blue Group is committed to working with the local stakeholders and authorities to establish the framework for floating offshore wind and to maximise the benefits for local communities.”
The company made the application on 8 April, according to Poland’s Maritime Administration information portal.
