Smulders has reached three key production milestones in the development of the Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3 offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea.
At its Hoboken yard, the first transition pieces have been successfully upended, marking a major step in the fabrication phase.
Smulders said the first units are almost ready for load-out, with a total of 100 transition piece sets to be produced.
Secondary steel for the components is being supplied by Smulders Projects Poland, reinforcing local involvement in the two projects.
In Vlissingen, the topside of one of the two offshore substations has completed initial production and is now ready for further outfitting.
At the same time, in Newcastle, the roll-up of the Baltyk 2 substation jacket has been completed.
Smulders said the progress reflects the dedication and collaboration of its teams, delivered with a strong focus on safety and quality.
On behalf of Equinor and Polenergia, Smulders, in consortium with Sif, is manufacturing 100 transition pieces for the Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3 projects.
The company is also responsible for the design, procurement, and construction of the two complete offshore substations, including both topsides and jackets.
