The topside and jacket for the OSS Jasmund offshore substation have been loaded out in the Netherlands ahead of installation in the Baltic Sea, according to the HSI consortium.
The consortium said the 48m-long, 33m-wide and 17.5m-high topside was completed at HSM Offshore Energy’s Stormpolder yard and weighs around 4500 tonnes.
It added that the 72m-high jacket was built by Smulders in Vlissingen.
HSI said both operations required precision planning to move the structures onto barges using tailor-made grillage to support structural integrity, load distribution and transport efficiency.
The consortium, comprising HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv, said OSS Jasmund is the first of three offshore substations it is delivering for 50Hertz under a full EPCIC scope.
It added that the programme will support Europe’s offshore wind build-out.
