Offshore wind generation at SSE Renewables’s assets increased over 61% in the first nine months of the 2019 financial year, compared with the same period in 2018.
Output from the company’s offshore wind turbines was 1487 gigawatt-hours in the nine months to 31 December, up from 921GWh in 2018.
However, onshore output fell during the latest period to 3026GWh from 3186GWh in 2018.
Generation from SSE’s hydro assets was up slightly to 2294GWh from 2250GWh, while pumped storage fell to 127GWh from 168GWh.
In total, SSE Renewables’s output in the first nine months of the 2019 financial year increased to 6934GWh from 6525GWh in the same period of 2018.
The figures include generation from assets that SSE has an ownership interest in the UK and Ireland, the company said.
Wind output excludes 308GWh of constrained off generation in the nine months to 31 December 2019 and 437GWh in the same period the previous year, SSE said.
