Statoil is to take over the operatorship of the 317MW Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm off the east UK coast this weekend.
The company said in a tweet it will take the reins from compatriot company Statkraft on Saturday. It confirms a story first published in subscriber-only reNEWS.
The pair signed a deal last year and Statoil will now run the project which features Siemens 3.6MW turbines.
It is part of Statkraft’s plans to exit UK offshore wind, which will eventually see the sell-off of a 40% share in Sheringham and a 30% stake in the 402MW Dudgeon project.
Last week, the company confirmed the divestment of its 25% stake in the 4.8GW Dogger Bank project to Statoil and SSE.
