Tekmar Energy is to supply 184 of its TekLink cable protection systems (CPS) for Dong Energy’s 660MW Walney 3 offshore wind farm to be located 19km off the coast of Cumbria in the Irish Sea.
The CPS will be installed along with the power cables in the summer of 2017 by VBMS.
Both Tekmar and VBMS also worked on the Walney 1 and Walney 2 projects.
Tekmar senior manager for offshore wind Jack Simpson said: “We are immensely proud that Dong Energy has once again chosen Tekmar for this prestigious project, particularly following our involvement in the Walney 1 and Walney 2 projects.
“This marks a step forward for the industry in its goal to standardise in order to reduce cost and risk.”
