Tekmar joins Rentel cable crew

Tekmar Energy has won an order to supply cable protection systems for the 309MW Rentel wind farm off the Belgian coast.

The contract with Prysmian comprises the delivery of 84 TekLink protection systems, Tekmar said.

Manufacturing for the latest order is expected to be completed early this year and Tideway will start installing the devices in the summer.

The 42-turbine wind farm is scheduled to start generating electricity from mid-2018.

Rentel will be the 46th offshore wind farm supplied by the UK company and its fifth in Belgium.
