Pondera Consult and Arcadis have been selected by Dutch transmission system operator TenneT to prepare an environmental impact statement for a power grid associated with the 700MW Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm project.
The EIS will study the effect of different cable routes, both on land and at sea, and the possible locations of a transformer station and a terminal where the cables will connect to the Dutch power grid, according to Pondera.
“The EIS will describe the environmental consequences: for example, environment, water, nature, landscape and archaeological values,” Pondera said in a statement.
Hollandse Kust Noord is one of three offshore wind sites selected by the Dutch government to be developed by 2023 as part of its Energy Agreement for sustainable growth.
