Dutch cable manufacturer Twentsche Kabel Fabriek (TKF) has confirmed a deal to supply inter-array lines for Innogy’s 342MW Kaskasi project in the German North Sea.
TKF said the contract scope includes the manufacturing and delivery of 52 kilometres of 33kV aluminium core cables with different cross sections. The company will also provide the associated cable accessories for the project.
“We are pleased to contribute to the Kaskasi project with our unique cable technology in terms of performance, installation and to support this project with our dedicated project team,” TKF subsea business line director Walter Heerts said.
TKF will deliver the wires to EPCI array contractor Seaway 7 from next year when cabling work at the project is due to commence.
Kaskasi is located 35km off Heligoland and will feature 38 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines with a capacity of up to 9MW.
The project is due to be fully operational in 2022.
