Innogy and Statkraft will start a second round of survey work on 14 November along the onshore cable route for the 900MW Triton Knoll offshore wind farm, which will be located off the Lincolnshire coast.
The surveys will last a few weeks and investigate 22 sites along the route, using either trial trenching or borehole drilling techniques.
Archaeological – known as geophys – surveys will also be taking place, providing information that will help the project identify and mitigate sensitive areas along the route, the developers said.
Earlier surveys have mapped conditions at locations where the cable installation may require the use of horizontal directional drilling to drill underneath rivers and railway lines.
All of the surveys are due to take place on privately owned land, and will involve a range of vehicles, including excavators, low loaders for delivering equipment and several vans for survey personnel.
