Dong Energy has contracted Tekmar to supply the cable protection system for the 580MW Race Bank offshore wind farm off the North Norfolk coast.
The Danish company also confirmed that JDR will supply the project’s array cables, with DeepOcean carrying out installation.
Cable production is underway and installation is expected to start later this year. The array cable system should be completed by mid-2017.
Dong said it is the first time it has used UK suppliers for the entire provision, installation and protection of array cables at one of its offshore wind farms.
Dong Energy UK country chairman Brent Cheshire said: “We are very committed to investing in UK suppliers wherever possible, and it’s great to see three different UK-based firms contributing to a vital part of our Race Bank offshore wind farm.”
