Marine and engineering consultancy LOC Group has been contracted by Korea Offshore Wind Power and Swiss Re to carry out marine warranty survey services for the 60MW Southwest offshore wind farm in Korea.
The contract will run from the second quarter of 2017 until early 2019, LOC Group said.
The project, which will consist of 20 Doosan 3MW machines, is being built by Korea Offshore Wind Power, a subsidiary of Korean utility KEPCO.
It will have both suction bucket foundations developed by KEPRI and four-leg jacket foundations developed by POSCO.
LOC Group renewables advisory and energy technology group director RV Ahilan said: “LOC Korea’s win on this important project further adds to the group’s global experience and expertise in offshore wind engineering consultancy.”
