The UK is to launch a new competition to provide funding to support the development and demonstration of new technologies for floating offshore wind.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy said the Floating Offshore Wind (FOW) Demonstration Programme will be launching soon, with interested parties able to submit a pre-application registration form that will allow them to receive programme announcements and be notified of upcoming events.
BEIS said the FOW Demo scheme is part of the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio and seeks the best ideas across several technology areas.
They are mooring/anchoring, dynamic cables, floater/foundations and miscellaneous.
Miscellaneous aims to cover areas that meet the programme scope and objectives but are not covered by the first three categories.
