The first stage of cable-laying at the 269MW Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm has finished ahead of schedule, according to the developer Northland Power.
Northland credited Van Oord and its Nexus vessel team for its “quick work” on the project in the German North Sea.

The second phase of the installation – cable burial – will begin shortly, said the developer.
Van Oord kicked off the cable-laying campaign in late April.
The project is using around 52km of 33kV medium voltage wires from Prysmian unit Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke.
Deutsche Bucht is situated 95km north-west of the island of Borkum.
Jack-up Aeolus is slated to start installing 33 MHI Vestas 8.4MW turbines this summer in time to bring the project online by the end of the year.
