Van Oord has signed a contract with Dutch cable manufacturer TKF to supply array wires for the 476MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
The marine contractor, which is the lead cable installation company for the Iberdrola-developed wind farm, will source 79km of 66kV in-field cables from TKF.
The scope includes includes the manufacturing and delivery of aluminium conductor inter-array cables and corresponding accessories.
The offshore works for the Baltic Eagle project will commence in 2023.
“TKF is a reliable supplier of high quality cables with a tailor-made design which will meet all our client requirements,” said Henk-Jan van Dijk, Van Oord project director.

Iberdrola’s Baltic Eagle project is being developed 30km north-east of the island of Rügen, located in the German waters of the Baltic Sea.
